Install and run the Funding Information Service (FIS)

Further education and training providers

From: Education and Skills Funding Agency

The Funding information service (FIS) is an offline tool for checking your individualised learner record (ILR) data. This is not a compulsory tool.

Through Submit learner data, you can check files without actually submitting data to us, replicating what FIS enables you to do.

Check you’ve got the latest version

We regularly update FIS, so make sure you’re running the latest version. You can download the latest version through Submit learner data.

Install FIS

You can install FIS by copying it onto a computer - it does not run an installer. It is intended to be copied onto individual computers but could also be run from a network location. However, this might mean you would need to get advice from your organisation's IT support.

Use the FIS known issues document to check our advice to resolve problems you have.

Need support

To help resolve any other FIS application queries we need to know:

  • your UK Provider Reference Number (UKPRN)

  • the FIS error message you are getting

Please include any relevant information such as installation issues in your query through our enquiry form.
