ILR validation rules for 2019 to 2020
The individualised learner record (ILR) validation rules explain all of the validation checks that are systematically run when you send an ILR data file to the ESFA.
The purpose of this validation is to ensure that we only collect data that is needed and that it is of a good quality.
The validation rules include:
- the name of each rule
- a description of what the rule is enforcing
- the ILR fields the rule uses
- the error message to explain what needs to be corrected
Each rule will also have an error or warning status. You will not receive funding for learners with data errors.
You may receive funding for learners with ‘warnings’, but you should still review warnings to make sure your data is correct.
