Reduction of Apprenticeship duration

Created

Please can I ask what others understanding is regarding reducing an apprenticeship duration because a provider can deliver it over a shorter period of time?

My understanding is that whilst there is a minimum duration of 12 months (unless exceptional circumstances), an apprenticeship’s duration, content and price would only be reduced based on evidence of prior learning.  The standard duration is set for a reason.

I could, however, be wrong. 😊

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Definitely still needs to be at least 12 months, even after having taken into account any reductions as a result of prior learning or whatever accelerated delivery a provider could employ

The provider must confirm that, after all relevant prior learning and experience has been taken into account, the apprenticeship practical period lasts for a minimum duration of 12 months.
