Is anyone successfully submitting provisional statements of results to EPAOs as evidence of Maths & English achievement? I've only accepted statements without the word provisional on in the past, but have been challenged on one.
No one has replied to this post.
As it stands no we are not accepting anything that states 'Provisional' but this is mainly down to the legacy of the rules around the frameworks and the examples provided here by awarding bodies who did not accept provisional statements of results Acceptable Evidence | ACE - Website (acecerts.co.uk)Strangely the ESFAs acceptable evidence list mentions provisional statements of results under the acceptable evidence heading.
If an apprentice does not have a certificate and/or a provisional notification of results or a statement of results from the awarding organisation, the provider can ask the apprentice to get a replacement certificate from the relevant awarding organisation (there will be a cost for this).

UPDATE: I messaged the email contact listed Qualifications.ESFA@education.gov.uk
They confirmed the statement is correct and provisional statements can be used as evidence but must only be from the awarding body.

Thanks for your feedback, Paul. I've taken to asking the EPAO - one has said a categoric no, a second has said yes (to the same provisional statement). I really wouldn't want to get to Gateway and an EPAO say 'we aren't accepting that'. My guess is that they have inexperienced folk with no historical knowledge so I've kept their email confirmation ready to present to them if the need arises!
