FE Workforce Data Collection

Created

Admit I had ignored the comms on FE Workforce Collection as it was voluntary in 2020/212, but our HR department have asked me what they will need to do in 2021/22 to prepare as will become mandatory.  Has anyone got this cracked and would have an off forum discussion please?  I have downloaded the input tool, but can't can't see an import option. I know our HR MIS won't have the XML output built in. Can anyone confirmed we will have until next September to submit?  More bureaucracy to deal with....

For smaller Provider (up to 30 staff) you can use the Online form from the SLD at the collection point at the end of each year.

All other providers can submit an XML file at the same point by using the Staff Data desktop (SDDA) application to produce an XML file, there is an excel template that can be used to capture date from their HR system which is used to copy and paste date (not imported) into the SDDA. This data may be exported from your HR system into the template or entered manually.

You will need to get this all set up by the end of 21/22 for the data collection at the end of the year.

Thank you Martin, gives us a while to sort it out. Looking at the 21/22 guidance it is asking about vacancies. I assume this is in addition to the main return on employed staff?

Yes the staff and vacancy data return collection are hosted within the Submit learner data (SLD) service as is the FE workforce governor data collection for FE and sixth-form colleges where this applies.
