RoATP Refresh

Created

Hi All,

We have had the invitation email this morning to re-apply for the RoATP with our application window being December. When we have clicked the link within the email to create an account, once we type in our UKPRN to link our email to our organisation, it says "there is a problem" and asks us to contact the help desk.

Does anyone know if the website is down or if we're doing something wrong?

Thanks!

Hi Abbie,

you can't register on the RoATP system until your application window opens on 1st December.

you can create a apprenticeship service account but as Chris says it won't let you do anything until the first.

Be prepared to need to have identified person of control before it lets you get to your set of questions its quiet infuriating as a system

Chris Bradley

I couldn't agree more Helen! The organisation I am helping to complete this month did not prepare for the person in control soon enough and I actually started to get into the system detailed layout on the 16th!!

I also found that after I had entered the financial figures and needed to clarify the FTE number needed so saved and continued. I got the staff FTE number later, went back in and the financial stuff had disappeared!

Helen Cuthbert

Chris Bradley oh man! so glad we don't have the financial figures to do.

Currently battling with Dates of Birth and individuals asking why is it needed.

Donna Dickman

Hi - how long do you have to submit your application once the window opens?

Thank you

Donna

Helen Cuthbert

that calendar month

Donna Dickman

Thanks Helen - so if our window is 1st-31st December, when would we need to submit?

Thank you

Donna

Helen Cuthbert

how much of a christmas do you want? you have to have submitted by the last day of the window

Donna Dickman

So it needs to be done by 31st?

Helen Cuthbert

yes, iwould work on it from now a its a beast

Donna Dickman

You cant open it until 1st December though can you?

Helen Cuthbert

Not the portal but you can make a good stab at the questions you will have to answer from the guidance and do it in a spreadsheet or doc to gather answers.

SDN offer a free webinar and checklist for preparing for ROATP resubmission  https://www.strategicdevelopmentnetwork.co.uk/roatp-prepare/

One issue I'd highlight is that your safeguarding policy etc must have a last revised date, next review date, and a scanned signature.

Thanks for your answers! Just a few more questions about the ROATP re-application if anyone has any insight?

The application asks for our most recent financial figures - our most recent 'published' financial statements ended 31/08/2020 because our previous financial year ending 31/08/2021 won't be signed off until March time. Do they want the most recent signed off and published figures or the most recent financial year, even if it's not been fully signed off?

Also, it asks for details on the most experienced staff in each sector we deliver apprenticeships. The issue we have is that the most 'experienced' staff in the sector isn't necessarily the staff with the most relevant official qualifications in that sector. So have you selected an employee based on practical experience, technical qualifications or found an employee that stands in the middle?

Thanks again!

Hi - just wondering if anyone can make sense of why we need to supply dates of birth for most experienced employee and management hierarchy. Something we know we will be challenged on within our organisation and struggling for a good reason. Did others get kickback on this, or any logical rational from the help desk?

Helen Cuthbert

Nicola Read no not really there response was its required to complete the application and its a secure portal. we did ask but didnt get anywhere with it. it to do with checks they want to do i think, but realistically its just month and year and the individuals probaby give it out to websites and other places without thought so is the fuss needed?

Nicola Read

Thanks Helen. Take your point completely but still something I know there will be kickback on
