Redundancy

Created

Hi,

I have a couple of learners who were made redundant and under the covid rules are allowwed to remain on programme.

I am struggling to code the ILR. (we use Maytas)

I am assuming I need to put her as unemployed (Code 11) but if I do this I get errors as the ruling is you have to be employed to be an apprentice

Any guidance would be appreciated

Sue

See the Flow chart: What to check in the case of redundancy on page 69 of the funding rules.

The guidance for Redundancy is:

Apprentice is made redundant (redundancy)

A new employment status, Other Employment Type (OET) has been added to record employment types such as redundancy.

If an apprentice is made redundant, you must record this in a new Learner Employment Status record with Employment status code 11 or 12, as applicable. While the apprentice is eligible to continue their programme, an Apprenticeship contract FAM type of ACT1 or ACT2 corresponding to the most recent employment period must remain in place without an end date in order to receive payment. If a new employer is found for the apprentice, then a new apprenticeship contract FAM type and a new negotiated price record must be recorded for the start of the period of learning with the new employer.

For full guidance regarding funding eligibility for redundant apprentices, please see the apprenticeship funding rules: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apprenticeship-funding-rules

If an apprentice becomes unemployed and is not eligible to continue their programme, they must be withdrawn from the apprenticeship.

Hi Martin,

Thank you this seems to have solved y error problem

Just to check, having added and new Employment status line for the redundancy do need to close the original ACT and open a new one or just leave the original one there without an end date

Apprenticeship contract FAM type of ACT1 or ACT2 corresponding to the most recent employment period must remain in place without an end date in order to receive payment.

Hi Martin,

Sorry but I am still not clear.

Do I need to add another ACT even though it will remain the same type?

Martin West

No just leave as is.

Brills, thank you Martin

Sue Scott how familiar are you with Maytas. I'm having an issue with the claim details tab and how it is profiling TNP3 & 4 for a learner?

Sue Scott

Hi Michelle

Sorry I dont have anything to do with that side of things.

I just view the claims tab to see how many payments we have had
