Has anyone been able to locate the ESFA template for the training plan that has now replaced the commitment statement?

Hi,

I don't think it is available yet.  I was on a webinar this morning and they said it was due in July but that has now been changed to 'imminent'.  So hopefully in the next week or so

Thank you

Waiting for this too... Hopefully we can expect this in the next few days.

Can anyone help , is there a template / formula for the reduction of funding , I have a number of learners who want to undertake level 2 Adult care Worker who have achieved their Care Certificate prior to enrolment which is a requirement of the standard.

Is it down to the provider to work it out if so what are other providers doing ?

Hi Susan,

This is what the guidance says but sounds very complicated to me, not tried it yet. Good luck.

Having identified the number of hours that will not be delivered to the apprentice, the provider must apply a reduction in cost to reflect the hours that have been removed from the training plan. To reflect the training delivery costs of the hours, you must reduce the price by a minimum of 50% of the prior learning percentage.

For example, if apprentice ‘A’ has prior learning and or experience equating to 300 off-the-job training hours, and a typical apprentice with no prior learning and or experience requires 1000 off-the-job training hours, apprentice ‘A’s’ prior learning and or experience should be calculated as 300/1000 = 30%.

Applying a minimum reduction of 50% to this example means that the starting point for price negotiation should be at least 15% lower than the maximum of the funding band.

So, if apprentice ‘A’ is on a standard with a maximum funding band of £10,000 – then the price adjusted for their prior learning and or experience must be at least £8,500 (-15%.).

They've just confirmed on the ESFA webinar that the training plan template should be available by the end of the day tomorrow

The new plan has just been posted here Apprenticeships: off-the-job training - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk).  Not sure if the OTJ calculation has been updated though?  Tab 4 K19 still appears to have the same formula =0.2*(K14*(K15-K17))

Surely, it should show K17 *6

If we are to use this template, am i right to assume we would have an additional sheet for the learner, employer and provider to sign to say all agree?

That would work. As long as the document is signed;

The training plan sets out the training that has been identified through the initial assessment as required to complete the apprenticeship. The plan also outlines how the apprentice will be supported to successfully achieve the apprenticeship. It must be signed by the apprentice, their employer and the main provider and all parties must retain a current signed and dated version.

And with regards to the OTJ recording template, we currently record this on our e-portfolio system, is it necessary to have this signed by all parties at the end does anyone know?
